About the Princess Maha Chakri Award

In honour of Her Royal Highness’s contribution, devotion, and lifelong commitment as a teacher and to education, the Princess Maha Chakri Award (PMCA) was established on the occasion of Her Royal Highness’s 60ᵗʰ Birthday Celebration in 2015, to recognise outstanding teachers and promote the teaching profession.

The Award is presented every two years to teachers who have transformed students’ lives and made significant impacts to their communities. It also serves as a platform for these outstanding teachers to share their experiences and support other teachers and students.

Currently, teachers from 14 countries in which Her Royal Highness has implemented developmental projects are selected to receive the Award, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Mongolia, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, and Thailand.

The Princess Maha Chakri Award is administered by the Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation (PMCAF).

The Princess Maha Chakri Award comprises:

  1. A Princess Maha Chakri Award medal
  2. A gold honorary brooch
  3. A Princess Maha Chakri Award plague
  4. Prize money of USD 10,000
  5. A certificate of honour
