Since 1980, Her Royal Highness has worked tirelessly to expand educational opportunities, recognising that true development extends beyond schools and classrooms. Her Royal Highness’s initiatives have integrated health care, vocational training, and agriculture for food security, reflecting Her Royal Highness’s belief that education is the foundation of sustainable livelihoods and social progress. Over the decades, Her Royal Highness’s projects have reached countless communities in Thailand and have extended to many other countries, amplifying Her Royal Highness’s impact globally.

Her Royal Highness is herself a passionate teacher. For more than four decades, Her Royal Highness has taught history and sociology at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy in Thailand. Her Royal Highness has continually emphasised the vital role of teachers as the cornerstone of student success, launching numerous programmes to enhance teacher preparation, professional growth, and educational quality Her Royal Highness’s vision and leadership have been honoured worldwide. In 2005, UNESCO named Her Royal Highness “Goodwill Ambassador for the “Empowerment of Minority Children through Education and through the Preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage.” In 2018, UNICEF awarded Her Royal Highness the Lifetime Achievement Award for Her Royal Highness’s remarkable contributions to improving the lives of disadvantaged children in Thailand. Through Her Royal Highness’s unwavering dedication, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has become a role model for teachers and learners alike.
