Mr. Than Tun is a teacher at the Basic Education High School in Ywar Thar Gyi township, Sagaing Region. From a humble background, Mr. Than Tun has dedicated his life work to the school and its students. He has been a very active member of the school and the local community in promoting health care for the students. His actions speak of his belief that healthy students will be able to achieve and become successful. He is the leading force in the school in promoting school farming where a number of nutritious vegetable plots such as tomatoes and rabbit greens can be found. He is also an active member of the school to promote exercising through sports. The school internally established a Chinlone competition and a javelin competition to attract the students to spend their time at the school. Mr. Than Tun is also central in establishing the football competition at his school.

Nutritious food is also a major concern for Mr. Than Tun. He understands the importance of nutrition and often involves his own family in providing extra food for the students whenever he can.
