School Address: 326 Phang Nga Technical College, Petchkasem Road, Muang District, Phang Nga Province, Thailand

Ms. Leanchumroon is the Head of Marketing and Economics Department at Phang Nga Technical College. She has a passion for teaching, and devotes her time and efforts to help local community since 1993. She believes no one shall be left behind. She recruits disadvantaged members of the community to enter vocational education for a better chance to improve their quality of life.
She is not only a teacher within classroom, but also, in her local community where she teaches the basic knowledge of accounting, and how to promote their local products. She becomes a role model to many of her students, who “pay it forwards” by helping their own community such as hiring and supporting local people to earn their livings. Many of her students and their families were seriously affected by the 2004 Tsunami. She ensured that her students continued their education in spite of difficulties. Consequently, she has developed “Bangpat Community Homestay” as a community-based rehabilitation model. The model is also celebrated for its success as an exemplary model for ecotourism and community-based business.
Ms. Leanchumroon is an outstanding TVET teacher whose capacities go beyond teaching vocational skills. She has been in charge of the Science-Based Technology College Programme, which applies project- based learning method.
