Mrs. Harisdayani is an English teacher at SMP Negeri 2 Binjai Lower Secondary School in North Sumatra, Indonesia. She received a bachelor’s degree in English education in 2010 and a master’s degree in educational administration in 2014 from the State University of Medan. She started her journey in teaching in 2011.
Mrs. Harisdayani is an energetic English teacher, a perfect example of continuing professional development. In 2020, she felt that her life had become routine, so she reignited the fire in her teaching career by attending training courses to upskill her practice. She enrolled in both online and onsite training in IT and teaching techniques. She then applied the knowledge and skills from the training to her classroom, making it relevant to her students. She uses social media, such as YouTube videos, TikTok, and EduGame via mobile phones, Facebook, and WhatApp, as tools to enhance her teaching, making her students enjoy learning.
She also provides peer coaching to other teachers on using IT in classroom teaching. As a result, she received several national awards from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia. She has been recognized as the Ambassador of Technology-Based Learning, the National Best Inspiring Teacher for Grade Junior High School, and the Inspirational Teacher at the Teacher Day Event in Binjai City. She also wrote and published an anthology book.
