Forty-year-old Dy Sophorn has always dreamed of being a teacher since she was a child. She always wants children to be equipped with educational and life skills. After graduating English studies from Phnom Penh University, Mrs.Dy started as a teacher trainee at primary school in Kampong Chhnang City and attended training on mathematic teaching at a Hun Sen Teacher Centre.

Mrs.Dy started teaching at Punlay Primary School in 1996 and later moved to teach Grade 6 students at Kumroukrong Primary School in 1999. Her twenty years of dedication to teaching services has been proven by a number of certificates of recognition of high dignitary work with silver Medal, bronze Medal and Somdach Decho Award Number 1 in 2017
Mrs.Dy creates a teaching atmosphere with “happy class” approach by giving love to all students equally and design fun learning experience for her students. They are encouraged to ask questions in English and learn not only academic but life skills so that they will grow up to be quality human resources of the nation. She had a unique technique of helping slow learners by pairing them with talented students. Every detail of her students are taken into account, including their names, their family background and healthcare.

Due to her dedication to teaching, over 95% of students regularly pass examination. Some of her students further their studies overseas and go on to achieve medal awards both at national and global levels.

Mrs.Dy believes that family, school and society are crucial elements that will help support and encourage students to grow up with high education and morality essential for their future success.
