Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation on a visit to Brunei Darussalam

Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation (PMCAF) delegations led by its chairman Dr. Krissanapong Kirtikara and committee members paid a visit to Negara Brunei Darussalam during May 21-24 to exchange views and teaching experiences with teachers particularly the latest PMCA Recipient from Brunei.

The entourage included Mr. Pratin Leamchamroon, the 2021 Thai recipient of the award,  paid a courtesy call on Thai Ambassador to Brunei, H.E. Ms.Boosara Kanchanalai, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam, and Thai private sector at the Thai Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan.

The group also met and exchanged views with Mr. Mohamad Amir Irwan Bin Hajimoksin, the latest recipient of the award from Brunei for his outstanding Literary Coach at Pengiran Kesuma Negara Bukit Beruang Primary School. His previous outstanding achievements included taking part in the education development both local and international levels, his extra devotion and work apart from his normal hours of working such as during weekend  and term breaks to provide extra teaching for weak students. He also initiated learning English projects for teachers and exchange future curriculum planning programs.  His preparation and participation for the upcoming the fifth Award ceremony in Bangkok for all the 11 Recipients from ASEAN and Timor-Leste on October 17 this year was also brought up for discussion during the meeting.

Princess Maha Chakri Award is to commemorate and recognize outstanding teachers who have dedicated and unleashed their effort in helping and promoting education for the country development, said Dr. Dr. Krissanapong. The recipients of the award would be one more step for them for their extension of knowledge and advancement, he added.

The Princess Maha Chakri Award could be regarded as a mechanism for the continuity of friendship among the ASEAN countries with all the Thai embassies in the Southeast Asia being the liaison in the respectful countries to connect with the recipient of each country that include paying a visit, inviting recipients for taking part in any related activities as “Friends of Thailand”. This also includes the Thai Embassy in Brunei engaging various activities and festivals with invitation to all the previous recipients from the first to the fourth to take part.

The Award is to commemorate the auspicious occasion of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 60th birthday anniversary in 2015, the Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation has sought to commemorate outstanding teachers whose dedication and internationally recognized achievements have resulted in significant impact on the students’ lives and a better education system.

The Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation, in association with eleven Ministries of Education from all ASEAN countries and Timor- Leste which will help select and nominate every two years, the most qualified of the award from each country in the region.
