Strengthening Collaboration between the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta and Indonesia PMCA Recipient

Jakarta, 1 September 2026 — The Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta is preparing to host a Thai Cooking Workshop on 15 September 2026 at Arkamaya Culinary Education, Jakarta, as part of efforts to promote cultural exchange and strengthen educational cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia.

The workshop will support Mr. Rudi Haryadi, a recipient of the 2019 Princess Maha Chakri Award from Indonesia, and his network of educators. Mr. Rudi will lead a delegation of 10 teachers and lecturers from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and vocational institutions, including SMK Negeri 3 Cimahi, SMK Negeri 15 Bandung, and SMK Negeri 1 Ciamis.

Participants will take part in hands-on classes featuring Green Curry, Kapi Fried Rice, Foi Thong, and Med Khanun, while also learning about the cultural stories and traditions behind Thai cuisine. The knowledge and experience gained will be adapted for teaching in culinary arts, hospitality, service, and vocational education.

More than a cooking activity, the workshop represents an opportunity for Thai and Indonesian educators to learn from one another, strengthen the PMCA teacher network in Indonesia, and deepen people-to-people relations through education and culture.
Mr. Rudi expressed his appreciation to the Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation for its support and expressed his hope that cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia will continue and grow in the future.
